Invest Ed™ Programs
Invest Ed™ is an unbiased, multi-component investor education program made possible by the Oklahoma Securities Commission and produced by the University of Oklahoma OUTREACH. Invest Ed™ programs are created to provide unbiased investment and anti-fraud information to Oklahomans of all ages.
Program Components:
Anti-Fraud Documentary Series
A series of anti-fraud documentaries developed to educate Oklahomans on the methods of securities
fraud scams and securities fraud prevention. These powerful documentaries profile some of Oklahoma’s most
recent investment fraud cases.
The Investment Minute
“The Investment Minute” Radio Series is 60 seconds of unbiased investment education
basics and anti-fraud information designed to increase investor well being through knowledge and securities fraud
awareness. The Investment Minute is scheduled to air state-wide
April 2 through September 30, 2007.
High School Students Tracking and Researching the Stock Market
A semester-based project that requires Oklahoma high school student participants to assess risk,
research, create and manage online portfolios, track investments online, and at the project’s conclusion write
a detailed report.
Summer Teacher Institute
A week-long professional development program designed to equip educators to teach the importance of
understanding investing, making sound financial choices and avoiding fraud. Teachers can incorporate the concepts
from the institute in their classrooms through the Invest Ed™ program, Students Tracking and Researching the
Stock Market.
The Oklahoma Securities Commission protects investors through the enforcement of the Oklahoma Uniform Securities Act of 2004; an act prohibiting fraud in securities transactions and requiring the registration of securities dealers and securities.
University of Oklahoma Outreach is a lifelong learning organization dedicated to helping individuals and organizations transform themselves through knowledge.
