Invest Ed^® « STARS « Recognitions

SPRING 2012

Nationally, 80,024 students participated in the spring 2012 National Financial Capability Challenge sponsored by the US Dept. of Treasury and the US Dept. of Education http://www.challenge.treas.gov/. The National average score was 69% with a total of 583 perfect scores. Nationally, 18,518 students scored in the top 20 percent. In Oklahoma, 1,325 students participated with an average score was 67.12% including 2 perfect scores. Oklahoma had 257 students scoring in the top 20 percent. Spring 2010 several Invest Ed^® STARS teachers participated in the National Financial Capability Challenge co-sponsored by the US Dept. of Treasury and the Dept. of Education. 76,892 students participated from 1,535 schools. Only 3 perfect scores were achieved in Oklahoma, and our teacher had all 3! Congratulations to these Invest Ed^® STARS teachers and students for their national recognition! 

The US Department of Treasury http://flc.treas.gov sponsors the National Financial Literacy Challenge, a new program recommended by the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Literacy.  In its initial semester spring 2008, 46,000 students in 2,000 high schools participated. STARS teachers were provided the option to register students for the fall 2008 Challenge.  Students who score in the top 25th percentile receive Certificates.  CONGRATULATIONS to these three business teachers for their students’ National accomplishments!
