Hello Dedicated Teachers!
Thank you for all you do for our students. It is most reassuring to experience your dedication to meeting students’
needs. That is what we’re all about! After such popular response last summer, we are offering TWO Refresher Workshops again in summer
2009.
We know you do impact futures, and this project offers you the opportunity to enhance that impact. The Invest Ed®
Refresher Workshop is an exceptional opportunity for free additional professional development training through Invest Ed®, Oklahoma’s
investor education program. This workshop is for teachers who have previously attended an Invest Ed® STARS workshop or Summer
Institute and have participated in the program at least once.
Two 2-day refresher workshops are scheduled.
Refresher Workshop I
June 23-24

Participants receive:
- Free Registration
- Free Lodging at the Sooner Legends Hotel in Norman (www.soonerlegends.com)
- Free Meals
- Free Course materials
- Financial education training from new subject matter expert(s) – names not yet confirmed
- $200 Stipend
- 1.3 CEU Certificate and professional development points with your district’s approval
Registration is now open, and seats go fast! If you are interested in attending, please complete the attached

Teacher Institute Eligibility Requirements
- must teach grades 9-12 in Oklahoma
- must plan to continue teaching grades 9-12 in an Oklahoma secondary school or Technology Center
** Please do not register if you will not have a signed contract for the 09-10 school year.
- must plan to implement the STARS project if not already doing so
Stipulations
- No more than 2 teachers from each school will be given a seat at the institute during primary registrations. Any additional registrations will be placed on the waiting list.
- Every workshop attendee must attend the entire workshop in order to receive the full stipend. Our expectation is you will
attend both days. If you have to miss part of the workshop, please inform the Invest Ed® staff ASAP.
- If your employment status changes at any time, please notify the Invest Ed® staff immediately.
